Lavender

The lavender in the back garden is so abundant this year. I think it likes the dry, hot weather. It's been humid but we haven't had a lot of rain.

It's so pretty and there is so much of it that I picked a whole bunch and have it in vases in my bathroom and my bedroom.

One of the little girls in my class got her foot stuck in the top of a plastic watering can.

So silly!

Fortunately I was able to turn her little foot and pop it right out.

I'm thankful that my work days are typically filled with challenges that are easily fixable.

I made a lemon blueberry bread over the weekend and by Monday we had eaten it all up.

It was a big hit with my husband, Hey-Joe. He didn't even realize it was vegan.

I have been friends with Sue for 33 years! A lifetime really. She and her mum came down to my house to spend the day and we had a delicious lunch at the Landing restaurant on the water.

One of my class families gave me a gift certificate to L.L. Bean. when their daughter moved up to the "big school" in June. I wondered what I would use it for and then remembered that my annual family camping trip was coming up in August so I ordered this little camp stove. I will have to buy some propane for it before I go...and remember how to use it!

  2. Love your blessings! I had to chuckle at the foot in watering can cause i had a student years ago that that happened to!!
Love the photos too and I love the look of lavender but i'm very allergic to it.
We have a camp stove just like that but in grey! We bought it YEARS ago ...now that i think about it, it might have been given to the family who bought our camper in 2009 when we decided ourcamping days were over. (We rent cottages now). Have a fabulous weekend.

  3. Our lavender is exceptional this year too. Allergies keep me from bringing any inside. Enjoy!

  4. I love lavender and use the oil in my diffuser to help me sleep. The bread looks yummy. So nice that you and your friends got together for lunch. We haven't camped in years. We gave most of our camping things away to our sons. We just have tents that the grands go in. Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Love the lavender! I wish I could grow it and put it inside-- The Professor is allergic.
What a lovely time with your long time friends. And I had to chuckle about the little one who had her foot stuck in the ring. Sounds like preschoolers...
That stove looks perfect for camping. Just the right size.

  6. My husband has a camp stove that he loves. I hope you have many good times with yours! It's nice when problems come up that they are easily fixable. It's wonderful to visit with lifelong friends. My youngest would love that bread--he loves lemon and blueberry together.
