sharing in the laughter

I spent the weekend with a very old and very dear friend along with her mother and her daughter.

Seven of the churches in her town had craft fairs on Saturday and we did some shopping

and went to lunch as well. I spent Friday night at her house because her mother wanted to be there when they opened at nine in the morning and it's about an hour drive from my house. We didn't leave till five!!

I was exhausted when I got home but we had the best time!

I picked up my grandchildren on Monday night and drove them down to spend the night at my house.

We all had Tuesday off because of Veteran's day.

They love to walk Marblehead (the town I live in) so we went out a few times during the day.

It was much too cold to go near the water but that didn't stop us from throwing rocks in from the shore.

I absolutely love decorating my Christmas tree with them but it's hard to find the time for them to come down to my house because everyone gets so busy. Last year we couldn't get together at all.

I know it's SUPER early...but I took advantage of the the opportunity. They loved it! Me too!

Natalie, who will be five in January said, "It's so beautiful, I fell to my knees!"

She had me hysterical the entire time she was here.

Years ago a co-worker gave me this cute little night time blindfold.

I never use it because I don't like not being able to see anything if I wake in the night.

She loved it though!

I'm not the only one who was ridiculously early this year as the toy store had their Santa mailbox out as well. The girls put letters in but Verne is getting a little old for that. He's already nine years old!

I mentioned that we did go for a few walks. This was on our way to the toy store which was, sadly, closed for Veteran's day.

Beyond little Natalie's head is truck loaded down with lobster traps. He was headed out from the town landing and bringing traps home to his yard for the off season. You can just see the harbour in the backround.

I am so thankful to live in this little town. I love being able to walk my grandchildren around the town that I grew up in.

I think I lost track of how many things I am grateful for...tis the season!

  1. I love everything about this post and one day....one day...i plan on visiting Marblehead. I even asked my husband (Who grew up south of Boston) How is it that we have been to Boston SO MANY times since 1990 and yet never walked Marblehead???!!!

LOVE the pics and the grands are getting so tall!! Natalie is adorable!
I also put my tree up yesterday because we will be in Plymouth Co for most of the week Thanksgiving week (Monday-Sat) and I have my book group xmas party the Tuesday after Thanksgiving which only leaves me Sunday after church and Monday to do all the decor!! (Tuesday I will be baking, etc). So I put it up yesterday (it's a small table top one now that the girls have their own apts) and I'll add the ornaments this weekend. Next week on a sunny warmer day I will do the outdoor decor. that usually takes me a good hour or two. My hubby doesn't help at all. He's a grinch except for the actual Xmas eve service and Xmas day. ha!

How fun to have that weekend with your friend and her family! A full day of shopping. love it.

    HappyWeekend
